On June 26-27, 2018 filming will begin on the documentary film Engineering Tragedy - The Ashtabula Train Disaster. It has been over six years since Beacon Production began researching this production and attempting to get funding. Through the efforts of Marla Corts, The Robert S. Morrison Foundation, historians, researchers and film team members we are finally going to start production!
With the death of William Grant, our Executive in Charge of the production, we were unable to secure our grant through the National Endowment for the Humanities. However, through the efforts of our film team, members and volunteers, we have decided to press forward and film this project anyway. This incredibly story has been lost in the pages of history and is too important not to be told. So much time and effort has been dedicated to this project that we just felt we could not let it just die on the vine.
The production will take over a year to film so we can film during the different seasons, and another year to edit, but it will happen.
